Summertime in Sweden

Category : Black & White, Street photography · No Comments · by Sep 10th, 2017

It was a nice day coming to an end in Bjärred, Sweden. We went for an evening stroll along the beach and walked to the end of a 500 m long peer with a sauna on the end. It was not particularly warm, but Swedes don’t seem to feel the chill…

Reflected Riverbanks

I was visiting my hometown after some time. I figured out that my favourite view of Ljubljana is reflected from the river Ljubljanica…

Down on the Corner in Palamós

Category : Street photography · No Comments · by Apr 29th, 2017

Palamós really is a wonderful mediterranean city. One of those still not totally converted to tourist traps. And it is so wonderfully picturesque! I wanted to post some more photos, but my drive is full so it will have to wait until I get back home…

Recharging my Batteries

Category : Street photography · No Comments · by Apr 25th, 2017

Hola nois!
Lately, almost every blog I write starts with some sort of “It has been a while”, so this time I won’t write that… I don’t post much lately, I guess there comes a time where one has to take a break and recharge the batteries, not just the ones of the camera, but his own also. Life is much more than online presence and I find it healthy to be able to step away from it for some time. Plus, it is difficult to run a business, keep everything in order and keep balance between personal and professional photography!
So, I am enjoying the Catalonian weather on the coast of Costa Brava these days. Doing some sightseeing and street photography. Here is a moment from Sant Feliu de Guíxols from yesterday’s sunset.

Silence II

Category : Black & White · No Comments · by Feb 2nd, 2017

Approximately a year ago I visited this place in the morning and it was very silent. This time it was in the afternoon and I had my Mamiyaflex twin reflex camera with me. The lake was frozen and a whole flock of American Coots was resting on the ice. The fog was rolling and it seemed like the frozen lake and the fog joined in to a seamless grey infinite ambience. Standing there and observing Coots landing on ice and sliding while masterfully keeping their balance was so peaceful. It seemed they were kind of enjoying it.

A Postcard from Ljubljana

Category : Black & White, Street photography · No Comments · by Jan 31st, 2017

I remember the days I started with photography.  I lived in one of the most beautiful cities in the world – Ljubljana. And I remember how I wanted to travel to some exotic city to make some photos. Today I live abroad, and I get excited every time I travel to Ljubljana, to take some photos. When I get there, it feels kind of strange. It feels exotic and domestic at the same time.
So, through the years some rolls of undeveloped film got piled up in my drawer. I started developing them and every roll has a photo or two from Ljubljana. I titled this photo “A Postcard from Ljubljana”, as it feels like I just received a postcard from my hometown. It feels kind of cool to develop old (well, not really that old, only two years or so) negatives… Oh, and I noticed that stand up paddling is really popular on the Ljubljanica river. I have to try it out someday!

Note to myself: Next time use a different developer with the Efke 100 film. For a relatively slow film, it’s grain gets kind of gritty soaked in Rodinal.

Flight IV

Category : Black & White · No Comments · by Jan 30th, 2017

Today I developed a roll of Efke 100 film that has been sitting in my drawer for a long time now. I didn’t even know when, where and with what camera I shot it. All I knew is, that it was in my drawer with bunch of other unprocessed rolls. Well, it was shot with a plastic toy camera with 4 lenses that I got in a camera trade I did with a fellow photogapher. I could say it is a LOMO camera, but I am afraid it is not even a genuine one. It looks like a knock off. Which is cool! So, he basically gave it to me for fun. And it is fun, given that it has a plastic lens and a quirky buzzing shutter, which is actually a rotating plastic disc with a hole in it that makes 4 exposures in half a second on one 24 x 36 mm frame. There were not many keepers on the roll, but I like this one a lot.
