Urbano prepletanje / Urban interlacing

Harmonija urbanega prepletanja.

Magical mornings in the city of Ljubljana. Very peacful, almost quiet, except for a few citizens, rushing to work with bicycles. Many of them don’t even notice all the wonderful scenes and patterns given by the morning light and atmosphere… Ljubljanica river, tidy river banks and a tree, exposing it’s leaves to the first rays of sun. The harmony of urban interlacing.

Minimalizem / Minimalism

Sun, wind, sounds of the sea and open sail far far away on the horizon. What more could one possibly wish for?

Krhkost / Fragility

Nature is magnificent and wonderful, but it’s true beauty is hidden in its fragility…
This photograph is taken with Bronica ETRS camera and Zenzanon 75/2.8 lens, shot on Agfa SCALA 200x B&W slide film and has been home developed by me. This film is a part of old stock and is out of production. Only a few studios in the world still develop it, the nearest being in Germany… And the development costs are pretty much exaggerated. I was able to develop it at home in Ilfosol 3 classic developer with some research! I think it came out pretty nice…

Zapuščina industrijske dobe II / Industrial age legacy II

Category : Analogna fotografija, Interier · No Comments · by Jun 20th, 2012

Another industrial motif, or better put “Industrial still life”, this time in colour. I have recieved a critique, that if I continue to publish only monochrome photographs, a black and white screen would be more than enough to view my blog, so I had to break the monochrome thread. This photograph is made with Bronica ETRS medium format camera and Zenzanon 75/2.8 lens on Fuji Reala 100 film negative.

Ena rolca filma z Bronico ETRS / A roll of film shot on Bronica ETRS

No, dejansko mi jih uspe narediti 14 in pol, saj mi prvega vedno malo odreže…

After my recent purchase of Bronica ETRS, I feel like I only shoot film. Well, that is for my personal projects, not commercial. With film, I feel like I take more time and concentrate more on the motif, as every shot counts. After a few rolls of Ilford 120 negatives, I decided to try out the Kodak 400TX. I cannot speak about the actual differences between films yet, as this is a matter of personal taste and there are too many variables left, that depend on me and my hands when it comes to film development, but I can say I got fairly better results on Kodak… One can get 15 exposures on Bronica ETRS with 120 roll, but I actually manage 14,5 as it always cuts off half of the first frame… (I am still searching a solution to this problem 🙂 ). Anyway, I usually publish a single shot, or a couple of them at most, but today I am sharing 10 frames from my last film with you. My self criticism didn’t let me publish the remaining 4,5.

…Nato nastopi tišina in preglasi udarjanje kladiv ter hrup industrijskih naprav…

…And then silence enters and overrides the sounds of hammers hitting the steel and the noise of industrial machinery…

Jutro na Ljubljanici / Morning on Ljubljanica river

Jutranji sprehod po Ljubljani. Turoben, siv dan. Pa še ponedeljek je… .

A morning stroll through the old part of Ljubljana. A grey, slightly depressive day. Well, it is Monday after all… It rains slightly and one can not even tell that yesterday was a wonderful summer day. Suddenly the clouds part and the sun shines through, lighting a magical scene on the river banks of Ljubljanica. I captured the scene with IR converted camera.

Prostor med zadovoljstvom in trdim delom / A place between satisfaction and hard effort

Category : Črnobela fotografija · (2) Comments · by Jun 9th, 2012

A slightly artistic interpretation of an interior (although the double exposure was unintentional), where I spent most of my youth – The athletic track and weight room at Athletic stadium ŽAK Ljubljana. A humble place, slightly filthy and dusty, full of water leaks on a rainy day, not to mention the anthill like crowd… No place of envy, I tell you that! But nevertheless, it’s a roof above one’s head and mostly a place where one can forge his ambitions with hard effort. It kind of grows on you and with years of everyday use it even gets that domestic feeling. Various athletes; runners, jumpers and throwers, each share the same goal: “Be better at what you do!” And that doesn’t stop at the track or field… It kind of becomes a way of life.

Prulski blues / Prule blues

Urbano sožitje drevja, reke in betona z naslovom “Prulski blues”.

A little less then a week ago, I met a friendly Englishman on Fotoantika (photographic fair in Ljubljana) and I bought his Bronica ETRS medium format camera (6×4,5 cm negative). It was a bargain, and I even haggled the price a bit, so it was an offer I really couldn’t pass. I developed a couple of films yesterday and scanned them at our faculty. Urban coexistence of a tree, river and concrete, titled “The Prule blues”.
