Uokvirjena narava / Framed nature

Wonderful nature of karst. A few weeks ago still beautiful, intact and vivid, but today it’s burnt and black as coal. The scent of pinetrees and lavender got replaced with a sharp scent of coal and soot, and all those wonderful karst colors got swapped with black. The horrific fire aftermath – still life.

Skodelica kave in portret / A cup of coffee and a portrait

Category : Analogna fotografija, Portret · No Comments · by Aug 24th, 2012

Ivan is a student, a rugby player, an aspiring business man and above all, a good friend. We had a cup of coffee and went through some ideas for our further projects and I also made a portrait of him. You know, for the archives…

Zgodba o svetilniku / A story about a lighthouse

A good proof that you are really into photographic chemistry is, that you develop your holiday rolls of film even before you manage to download all the digital photos from your memory cards. Well, I guess I am heading in a slightly weird direction, but I trully enjoy every minute of my analog experience.

This time I’d like to present a short photo story of a lighthouse Veli rat – the tallest one in Adriatic sea, measuring about 42 meters in height. It is located on the northern part of Dugi otok island, near Zadar, Croatia. It was built in 1849 and rebuilt approximately 40 years ago. The locals say that the facade is painted with 10.000 egg shells. The lighthouse gives you an exceptional view. You can even see Osor on Cres in sunny weather. All photos were taken with medium format camera Bronica ETRS and Kodak 400TX films, and processed home with Ilfosol 3 developer.

The Daddy project – plesna predstava / The Daddy project – dance performance

Category : Gledališka fotografija, reportaža · (1) Comment · by Aug 16th, 2012

Včeraj sem na odru KUD France Prešeren fotografiral plesno predstavo “The Daddy project”, v kateri nastopajo Enya Belak, Maša Hawlina, Jerca Rožnik Novak, Veronika Valdés (PTL).

Yesterday, I photographed a dance performance “The Daddy project”, starring Enya Belak, Maša Hawlina, Jerca Rožnik Novak, Veronika Valdés (PTL). It speaks about different father – daughter relationships. The performance took place in KUD France Prešeren as a part of Trnfest festival. It is a very dynamic play, which I tried to portray in my photographs.

Nasvidenje, prijatelj / So long my friend

Ah, kaj trobezljam, sej je samo avto. Kup izjemno lepo oblikovane pločevine. Nič drugega. No, pa ni čisto tako. Vseeno kar malce zleze pod kožo. Prvi avto – tisti, s katerim izkusiš brezmejno svobodo polnoletnosti. In nekako dobiš občutek odgovornosti.
Čeprav si bil vedno bolj v “ratlook” stilu in nekoliko zanemarjen z moje strani, si vseeno obrnil marsikatero glavo. In zbil kak ego.

Naah, what am I whining about. It’s just a car. A piece of beautifully crafted metal. Nothing more. Well, not quite. It still gets under your skin. Your first car – the one, that lets you taste freedom of adulthood. And gives you some sense of responsibility… After eight joyful years, the time has come to part our ways. It was one hell of a ride!
Good luck, my Cockroach! And thanks for all the good memories and joyful rides you’ve given me in these past 8 years and 55.000 kilometres, we made together. Although you were always a bit “ratty” and slightly messy, you were still a head turner. And ego buster… Ha ha, I still remember how a guy in M6 cabrio wanted to drag race on the traffic light… Or how a guy in a porsche was winding his motor on a red light. But still, we always kept our pace. Our moto was: “Low and slow”.

Polna luna / The full moon

Category : Pokrajina / Narava · No Comments · by Aug 11th, 2012

We rarely find ourselves on the right place at the right time. And when we do, it’s usually spontaneous. But this was planned. We caught this magnificent moment of the full moon setting behind the shipwreck, just before the sunrise. Another one of those moments, worth getting up in the middle of the night.
