2. Blues harp fest

Category : Črnobela fotografija, Koncerti · (2) Comments · by Nov 25th, 2012

Včeraj so bežigrajsko Cvetličarno napolnili pristni blues ritmi in melodije ustne harmonike, oz. po domače orglic. 2.

Yesterday, Cveličarna in Bežigrad was overflowing with genuine blues rythm and sounds of blues harmonicas. 2nd Blues harp fest featured various domestic nad foreign blues bands and harmonica masters. The atmosphere was very positive and a lot was happening on the stage. Although the concert light was very colorful, I think black and white photos suit the blues theme even more. I’ve gathered some of yesterday’s impressions in the following photos:

Jesenska pripoved, Mercedes Benz 220 SE / The Autumn tale, Mercedes Benz 220 SE

Category : Avtomobilizem · (6) Comments · by Nov 23rd, 2012

No, imeli smo res srečo, saj smo ujeli najlepšo soboto v letošnjem novembru in uspeli naresti pravo jesensko pripoved:

This Saturday I was photographing one of the neatest oldtimers that can be rarely seen on our roads. A totally restored Mercedes Benz 220 SE from the year 1960. This thorough restoration was done by Janez and Jure Petač from Ljubljana and it took them approximately 6 years to complete it. While I was inspecting it before the shooting, I really got the feeling it just drove out of a car saloon moments ago. This convertible, over half a century old, is a real gem of German engineering. It is driven by 2,2 liter petrol engine with fuel injection that is capable of 120 horse power. Not bat for an era when an average car had only a little over 40 horsepower… The interior is magnificent and the seats are as comfortable as the living room couch. The detail, lines, chrome trim, leather interior, wooden dashboard… They didn’t spare the luxury with this one, that’s for sure. The Mercedes Benz factory built only 1.112 of these cars, so you can imagine how rare one can see it on the road. Especially in factory like condition. I think it is only fair to mention that this particular car is the winner of this year’s Concurs d’Elegans.
Well, we had a bit of luck as we picked the nicest saturday in this year’s November for our photoshoot and we managed to make a true Autumn tale:

Pozabljen svet / Forgotten world

Category : reportaža · (2) Comments · by Nov 21st, 2012

Malo zdelane od časa, v veliki meri od nedavnih poplav. Ljudi nismo srečali veliko. Sem ter tja kakšnega ribiča ali ptico. Drugače pa polno naplavljenih smeti, lesa, napol potopljenih in z algami prekritih čolnov in rjaveče pločevine. Vreme je bilo turobno, oblačno. Skratka, nič kaj optimističen kraj. A vseeno sem čutil neko pomirjenost. Kot, da se je narava tam ustavila… Zanimivo vzdušje, katerega vam bom poskušal predstaviti skozi naslednjih nekaj fotografij:

This Sunday was a perfect day for me and my dear friends to go to “osmica” (used to be 8 days, when people could sell their food and wine tax free) and make a short trip to Italian Monfalcone. Well, I won’t make you hungry with describing osmica, so let me just skip to our little trip…
So, we visited the mouth of the river Soča in Monfalcone. It was my first visit to this lonely and almost forgotten place, full of wooden fishing barracks, eaten out by ravages of time and recent floods. We didn’t see much people. Just some fishermen and some birds preying for food. Other than that, the place is filled with drift wood, garbage, rusty metal and sunken boats covered with algae. The weather was grey and dull and didn’t add any optimism to the atmosphere either. But anyway, it felt kind of tranquil, as if the nature has stopped there…
Through the following photographs, I’ll try to depict the atmosphere:

Svetloba in sence / Light and shadows

On a dull grey day like today it feels good to add some light and playful shadows. A detail from Križevniška street in Ljubljana, captured in infrared technique.

Moderna arhitektura v mraku / Modern architecture in dusk

Category : Arhitektura · (2) Comments · by Nov 4th, 2012

Torej, Narodni muzej Slovenije – Metelkova s svojim odsevom:

This weekend I mainly tested my ultra wide angle lens and photographed some architecture after quite a while… The platform of Museum quarter in Ljubljana has been in my thoughts for a while now, so I decided yesterday to take some long exposure shots in dusk as wanted to capture these wonderful tones of long exposure in flattering blue light.
Here are some technical details: Nikon D700 & Sigma 15-30/3.5-3.4, single exposure of 20 s (no HDR), f/16, f= 27 mm, ISO 200.
So, National museum of Slovenija – Metelkova and it’s reflection:

Simetrija / Symmetry

Sodobna arhitektura, abstraktno mišljenje, mrak in dolga ekspozicija. Recept za današnjo abstrakcijo.

Modern architecture, abstract thinking, dusk and long exposure. A recipe for todays abstraction.
