TipoSrajca / TypoShirt

Sodelujoči študentje: 1. letnik OTO, 2. letnik GMT in 3. letnik GIK

Fotograf: Luka Gorjup

TypoShirt is a joint graphic and fashion design project of students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana, which represents the collaboration between various creative fields. Students of graphics designed the fonts at Typography classes, which fashion design students then transfered to their creations. They used a classic men’s shirt for a starting point and transformed it into a modern and innovative pieces of clothing, such as shirts and dresses. The material of choice served as a blank piece of paper onto which the fonts, words or the whole paragraphs were embroided or glued to, on some even cut out from, to form different stories.

I was involved with this project as a photographer, so we joined forces and made a studio editorial for the collection of 17 different shirts. There are many photos, but here on my blog, I will publish only few… As the shirts are black and white, I decided no color was needed, so the photos are also black and white.

All who are interested in seeing the creations in person, you can visit the exhibition at the City Museum of Ljubljana between 6th and 17th of June 2013. There is also some media coverage of the project.
